Zhejiang Province has taken the lead by being the role model for the country’s clean-energy efforts. The projected consumption of natural gas in Zhejiang will reach 16 billion cubic meters by 2020 and the guaranteed supply capacity of natural gas in Zhejiang will reach over 18.6 billion cubic meters, and LNG supply capacity will reach 11 billion cubic meters with a year-on-year growth rate of 16%.
According to the government’s blueprint, Zhejiang province plans to build the “Ningbo-Zhoushan LNG Imports Center” that is capable of receiving up to 15 to 20 million tons of LNG annually. The Ningbo-Zhoushan LNG Imports Center is also projected to extend its reach across the Yangtze River Delta, the Yangtze River Economic Zone, and across China in the future.
ZE is the majority shareholder in the Wenzhou LNG Terminal construction project. Upon its completion in 2023, the terminal will be able to receive 3 million tons of LNG annually. In addition, ZE and China National Offshore Oil Corporation had mutually invested in the Ningbo LNG Terminal construction project in 2012; Phase I is operational and has an annual receiving capacity of 3 million tons. Phase II (6 MTPA) is under construction.Zhoushan Liuheng LNG Terminal (6 MTPA) is planned and estimated to be put into operation in 2025. Zheneng Zhongzhai LNG Terminal (6 MTPA) and Wenzhou LNG Terminal Phase II (3 MTPA) are planned.
